Dr Gianmarco Regazzola is an internationally trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialised in hip and knee surgery and trauma management. He completed his medical degree at the University of Insubria Varese in 2009, where he was thereafter awarded his Specialisation in Orthopaedics and Traumatology in 2015.
Dr Regazzola undertook hip and knee subspecialty training in Australia, having completed two prestigious clinical and research fellowships accredited by the Australian Orthopaedic Association from 2014 to 2017. During this period, Dr Regazzola served as a fellow at The Hip and Knee Clinic at Sydney Olympic Park under Prof. Warwick Bruce, Dr. Peter Walker and Prof. William Walsh. He subsequently held the Sydney Orthopaedic Research Institute (SORI) Fellowship under Dr. Myles Coolican, Dr. David Parker and Dr. Brett Fritsch. He led numerous research projects while in Australia, working in collaboration with the Surgical & Orthopaedic Research Laboratory (SORL) and SORI on topics such as osteointegration, biomechanics and kinematics studies.
Dr Regazzola has published numerous research papers and a book chapter in the fields of reconstructive surgery, hip and knee replacement and osteointegration. He has presented his research at notable international conferences.
Dr Regazzola has a special interest in primary and revision hip replacement procedures, partial and total knee replacement, computer navigation and robotic surgery, as well as knee reconstruction and knee injury management. He provides individualised care aligned with the latest evidence-based practices.
